Tetiana Mokridi - about real life in Minsk.
Tetiana Mokridi, a prominent Ukrainian journalist a wife of the former ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus Roman Bessmertny, commented on Facebook on Editor-in-Chief at Charter97.org Natallia Radzina’s speech in the European Parliament and her descriptions of torture of women in Belarusian prisons:
“During our work at the embassy, we met with Natallia Radzina. Then she was badly beaten right on her riser blocks of flats - her face was all dark with bruises.
I will never forget how many people were thrown into prison on the night of the presidential election on December 19, 2010. I will never forget what happened to the family of presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov and his wife Iryna Khalip and to the family of the head of his headquarters, Dzmitry Bandarenka, and many others.
The Ukrainian people admired LukashenkaIn 2009-2010. He was the leader of our opinion polls. At that time, Ukrainians wanted such a president.
And I have often heard that Belarusian medicine is an example because it is free. I had the misfortune to end up in a hospital, and during the surgery they injected me with anesthesia. I still cannot forget it because they work according to Soviet protocols. And the very next day I told the head of the department: ‘Let me go now, and issue a check out of hospital in two weeks, as the instructions require. If not, I’ll go out the window.’ She apparently thought that the ambassador had some kind of crazy wife.
I hope that the craze for Belarusian ‘quality products’... from the radiation zone has gone, and all these kiosks in Kyiv with the Soviet quality mark have been demolished to hell.
We go through very difficult and painful lessons because we often don’t think properly and don’t analyze. I watched a video by Sadhguru, an Indian yogi and philosopher. I remember his words that people’s intellectual abilities are declining, and the planet is no longer capable of choosing smart leaders. Smart people are no longer held in high esteem, they are the minority...
