The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has increased the number of troops on the ground expanding operations in the Gaza Strip.
This was reported by The Times Of Israel.
Israeli troops are also operating deeper in the enclave than they have since the start of the war.
The Press Service of the Israel Defence Forces showed a video of a ground operation in the northern part of the Gaza Strip
Military engineers, infantry and tanks operate under the cover of combat helicopters. It is also reported that militant detachments tried to strike at IDF troops that entered Gaza but were destroyed. The advance of the ground forces is supported by artillery all the time.
As the ground operation in the Gaza Strip expands, Israel has reiterated its call for civilians to evacuate from the northern part of Gaza to the south.
As IDF speaker Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a video message, the Israeli army is “moving to the next stage” of the war against the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in Gaza and “expanding its activities.”
“Civilians in northern Gaza, Gaza City, should temporarily move south of Wadi Gaza to a safer area where they can receive water, food and medicine,” Hagari said.
He added that tomorrow "the humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, led by Egypt and the United States, will expand."
“Israel is in a war that it did not start and did not want,” Hagari said, adding that Israel is fighting “Hamas, not the people of Gaza.”
“Hamas is using Gaza locals as human shields. Hamas operated in and around civilian buildings precisely because they knew that the IDF differentiated between terrorists and civilians,” he said.
