Direct Hit And Destruction: GUR Forces Attacked Military Airfield Near Rostov With Drones

Ukrainian intelligence revealed the details of the night operation.

That night, drones attacked a military airfield in Morozovsk, Rostov region of the Russian Federation. The attack caused damage there.

A source in the Ukrainian special services reported this to RBC-Ukraine.

In general, according to the source, this was a massive UAV attack on military targets in three regions of the Russian Federation: Rostov, Lipetsk and Volgograd.

“Russian media is saying that all the drones were downed. That’s not true. There was at least one direct hit on a military airfield. There is destruction. Other consequences are being clarified,” the source said.

At the same time, he clarified that the number of UAVs is close to the reports by Russian media.

According to the publication, the GUR (Ukrainian Defence Intelligence) is behind the operation.

Recall that this night residents of the Rostov region reported explosions on social media. Governor of the Rostov region Vasily Golubev announced a drone attack in the area of the settlements of Morozovsk and Kamensk.

Media reported that drones attacked a local military airfield. The 559th Guards Bomber Regiment (military unit 75392) is based on its territory and front-line Su-24, Su-24M, and Su-34 bombers are deployed.

Later, the Russian MoD reported on an allegedly “repelled drone attack.” The Russians said that air defence worked in three regions: Lipetsk, Rostov and Volgograd, and 33 drones were allegedly shot down.
