Despite this, active administrative preparations for a possible draft are already underway in the country.

“We are seeing numerous cases of so-called covert mobilization and additional efforts to ramp up contract recruitment,” sources told the publication.

According to the sources, Russian authorities are forcing individuals awaiting trial, those with significant financial debts, or those facing academic difficulties at universities to sign contracts.
