He transferred tens of millions of dollars to terrorists.
On Tuesday, December 19, the Israel Defense Forces reported that the main financier of the Hamas terrorist group was killed in an airstrike on the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Times of Israel reports this.
According to the Israeli military, Subhi Farwana and his brother worked to transfer funds to Hamas and its military wing using a currency exchange office.
“Farwana was one of the few and well-known exchangers who was able to transfer to the military wing of Hamas the amount necessary for military operations,” the Times of Israel quotes the IDF press service and the country’s security services.
According to the publication, Hamas's military wing depends on funding through money exchangers to enable it to conduct military operations. These exchangers receive funds from Iran and other countries and then launder them for Hamas, avoiding international funding systems.
According to Israeli security officials, Farwana has transferred tens of millions of dollars to Hamas over the past few years.
