Putin Smells Strategic Defeat

The Kremlin is begging for an immediate truce.

The Kremlin is begging for an immediate truce and the start of negotiations with Ukraine, because it understands that the situation for Russia will only get worse in the future. This was stated by military expert Oleh Zhdanov, answering questions from his viewers on YouTube.

According to him, now Putin needs to prevent a Ukrainian counter-offensive, as a result of which the Russians will lose control over large areas of the occupied territory of Ukraine. The Kremlin also fears a strategic defeat in the war as a whole.

“Putin wants to stake out territory for himself. Putin is demanding a truce to protect the gains he has to date. This is water to the Crimea, a land corridor to the Crimea and the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant as a trophy and to provide the occupied territories with electricity,” Zhdanov believes.

At the same time, the expert admits that Russia will try to issue an “invoice” for the West, and demand “reparations” from it if it manages to gain a foothold in the occupied Ukrainian territories.

Ukrainian counteroffensive — what is known

Earlier this week, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced the timing of Ukraine's counteroffensive. According to him, the Ukrainian army will begin the operation to liberate the territories in April-May, as soon as the weather allows. They will attack in several directions.

At the same time, the minister warns that Ukraine still needs additional delivery of heavy military equipment so that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be successful.

Major of the reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Hetman, commenting on the expected counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army, expressed the opinion that Western tanks would drive across the southern steppes. The task of this operation will be access to the coast of the Sea of Azov and “cutting off” the Crimea from the Donbas.
