Prigozhin In Rostov Announces Part Of Russian Troops Is Taking His Side

Most of the soldiers, in his opinion, support the rebellion.

After entering Rostov-on-Don, the Wagner PMC head Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the Wagner militants had engaged in battle with the regular units of the Russian army, but that most of the soldiers, in his opinion, supported the rebellion.

“Fights take place in those places where the military leadership gives false information to the fighters, and this is also the reason. In the places where soldiers meet us, the National Guard and the police, they wave joyfully and many of them say: we want to go with you. There are already sixty-seventy people who have joined us, although we have still come a short way. I think half the army is ready to go with us,” Prigozhin said in another audio message.

It also became known that Prigozhin, at the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov, held talks with Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Yevkurov and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Alekseev.

He stated that the Wagner PMC shot down a helicopter of the Russian Defense Ministry and “will shoot down everything”.

Prigozhin has also said that the Wagner PMC will be in Rostov and blockade the city until Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the RF Armed Forces, comes to them. If he refuses to communicate with the “Wagnerites”, Prigozhin threatened that the PMC would “go to Moscow”.

As the Charter97.org website wrote earlier, Wagnerites’ chieftain Yevgeny Prigozhin announced the start of a military coup. The troops of the Wagner PMC have already taken Rostov-on-Don and entered the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation.
