Moscow faces a difficult dilemma.
Wagner PMC leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, who staged a riot against the Kremlin regime, could be killed in Belarus, where he fled after yesterday's events.
It is reported by CNN.
Jill Dougherty, CNN’s former Moscow bureau chief, suggested that the chief of the Wagnerites could be killed, despite the fact that he fled to Belarus.
In her opinion, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not forgive traitors.
“It’s possible we could see Prigozhin get killed in Belarus. But it’s a tough dilemma for Moscow because as long as Prigozhin has some type of support, he is a threat, regardless of where he is,” she said.
As the Charter97.org website reported, the leader of the Wagnerites, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the start of a military coup. On June 24, Wagner troops took Rostov-on-Don and marched through the Rostov, Voronezh and Lipetsk regions of the Russian Federation. Wagner troops with armoured vehicles entered the Moscow region and approached a distance of 200 km to Moscow, after which Prigozhin ordered a retreat. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Prigozhin had been acquitted of a criminal charge of rebellion and would live in Belarus.
