Did they start a "negative offensive"?

Residents of the Melitopol region noticed a massive movement of Russian military vehicles and occupiers to the south, closer to the coast of the Sea of Azov, in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The local edition of RIA-Melitopol reports this.

Residents of the region are talking about the departure of a large group of Russian troops to Stepanivka Persha, Mironivka and Chkalove.

The occupiers also placed a lot of military equipment in the Zaporizhstal countryside located in Stepanivka.

“Traitors from among the employees of local village councils are taking an active part in the resettlement of the ‘liberators’, as well as village heads who prepare lists of empty housing,” they say.

According to the villagers, the occupiers sometimes even settle 11 people in one house.

The same suspicious activity of the Russian occupiers is also noted near Lyman. The occupiers are transporting military equipment and parts of pontoon bridges there.

The article reads that the Russians are rushing and "literally fly around the villages on trucks" because of the successful actions of the Ukrainian forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction

Earlier in June, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Yuriy Malashko, revealed the details of how the "evacuation" of the occupiers in this region is taking place. The official also gave several examples of how Russian troops robbed the captured cities of the Zaporizhzhia region, particularly in Melitopol and Energodar.

The situation in the Zaporizhzhia region

Since June, the Ukrainian forces have been conducting active operations in several directions of the front, including in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the Ukrainian General Staff, cases of desertion among the occupying army are increasing because of successful military operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and due to significant enemy manpower losses.
