Erdogan Going To Turn Putin Over?

The head of the Russian Federation has agreed to come to Turkey.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan held telephone talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. The parties agreed on the latter's visit to Ankara.

This is reported by Hürriyet.

The publication revealed the details of the talks:

Erdogan and the head of the Kremlin agreed on Putin's visit to Turkey;

Erdogan emphasised the importance of avoiding escalation of tensions in the war against Ukraine, and stressed the importance of the "grain deal", which he sees as a "bridge to peace";

"Drawing attention to the fact that inaction of the Black Sea Initiative for a long period of time is not in anyone's interest and that low-income countries in need of grain suffer the most harm, President Erdogan pointed out that grain prices, which have fallen by 23 per cent during the period of the initiative, have risen by 15 per cent in the last two weeks," the publication wrote.

The President of Turkey noted that Ankara will make efforts to continue the "grain deal";

The publication notes that the "grain deal" will be discussed on the agenda of the meeting between the Turkish President and the dictator. In particular, Erdogan said that "Putin wants this humanitarian bridge to continue to operate."

As Charter97.org reported, in July Putin feared to go to the BRICS summit in South Africa.

Formally, if Putin had travelled to South Africa, the country's authorities would have had to arrest the Russian president and hand him over to the International Criminal Court, which issued an arrest warrant for Putin in March.
