The liberated territory is being mopped up.
The Ukrainian military is knocking out the enemy from the south of Ukraine. The goal of the Defence Forces is to clear the strip from the left bank for at least 10-15 km.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of the head of the Joint Coordination Press Centre of the Defence Forces of southern Ukraine Natalia Humenyuk made during the TV marathon.
"We continue to knock out the enemy so that the strip from the left bank (of the Dnipro, - ed.) at least 10-15 kilometres away from them is absolutely cleared," she said.
According to her, this will allow to reduce the number of shellings on the right bank and will make it easier for residents of settlements along the coast.
Movement of Russian Troops in the South of Ukraine
Earlier, Humenyuk said that after the blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant on June 6, Russian troops moved 5-15 km away from the Dnipro, but they continued shelling Kherson, and the Russian Federation carried out attacks even during the evacuation of people from the flooded city.
Already at the end of June, during a briefing, Humenyuk stated that the occupants were gradually returning to the very same positions in Kherson Region that they had left after the flooding caused by the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.
