A secret KGB document was published the day before Prigozhin's liquidation and it’s available now.
There is information that the Russian Wagner Group mercenaries were also recruiting military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus when training them. It really “cheered up” the Belarusian KGB military counterintelligence. At the same time, the concerns of European countries about such an unpleasant neighbourhood and threats emanating from the Wagnerites, whom the Kremlin can also use for terrorist attacks and sabotage, do not decrease.
The military was intimidated by imprisonment
The Military Counterintelligence Department of the Belarusian KGB sent a document to the Belarusian MoD and the Command of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces. OBOZREVATEL tapped into еhe document.
It reads that Wagner Group is recruiting Belarusian officers, warrant officers and privates to serve in African countries. "This directly leads to a decrease in the readiness of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces to perform direct tasks," the document reads
Also, the military counterintelligence said that a set of measures was being taken to counter this threat.

“The command of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces is not recommended to establish official cooperation with this organization since in the future it can be considered as a crime under Art. 287 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (the illegal creation of an armed unit, leadership of such a unit or participation in it),” the document reads, marked “for official use.” Major General Kanstantsin Kuchynski, the head of the Belarusian KGB Military Counterintelligence Department signed it.
The document is dated August 22, 2023 - the day before the liquidation of the leaders of the so-called PMC in the plane crash in Russia.
Obozrevatel’s sources in the special services admit such actions of the Wagnerites, at the same time they say that this can also be a covering operation for disinformation about their real actions. Like, it is not in vain that they are talking about “work” in distant Africa.
But the presence of several thousand of the Wagnerites in Belarus is now seriously troubling Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, which border the country, as well as other European countries. Moreover, information has appeared about the receipt of new passports by war criminals in Belarus. Moreover, these are not fake documents, but real ones issued in different names. Thanks to this, mercenaries from the ranks of the Wagner Group are able to enter the territory of the European Union through border crossings to commit sabotage and terrorist attacks.

Meanwhile, there is no reliable evidence that after the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin, the Wagnerites were completely withdrawn from Belarus. The number of mercenaries on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, according to various sources, is 4.000-6.600 troops.
A number of media have been discussing a new topic since the beginning of August 2023. It was about the massive dismantling of tents in the town of the Wagner Group near the Belarusian city of Asipovichy. There were even satellite pictures confirming the information.

However, this can be either a simple redeployment of mercenaries or a deliberate creation of a "smoke screen". Moreover, the withdrawal of Wagner's weapons from the Republic of Belarus was not spotted.
What will happen to the Wagner Group?
This question worries many today. Military observer Yuri Karin, the coordinator of the Information Resistance group, and even the commanders of the PMC troops do not yet fully know what will happen to them in the future.
“After all, Prigozhin was the one who was setting almost all the strategic and communication tasks. He also was making the decisions. He also received funding for the Wagnerites. And the surviving commanders of PMCs simply do not have all these levers to control the mercenary gang. At best, they will have the opportunity to prove their loyalty to the new command or die altogether,” Karin said in a commentary to Obozrevatel.
According to him, at the beginning of autumn, PMC fighters were expected to return from vacations and receive tasks for the near future. “One of the areas of their activity could be the transfer to Africa to support local rebels and cannibalistic regimes friendly to the Kremlin. But, according to some reports, the Russian MoD has already captured this sphere the Russian GRU [the Russian military intelligence - Ed.]. And the most ideal decision for a simple Waginer’s ‘slab of meat’ will be to change stripes with a two-headed one or other PMC’s,” he said.
Moreover, the military observer believes that recently the Russian Ministry of Defence has been actively working with Wagner fighters to sign new contracts, although Prigozhin opposed the MoD. “With no other prospects of making money through murder, the meat will gladly accept the terms of new employers,” said the Information Resistance expert.
On the other hand, the Wagner group has become for Russia a part of the war in Ukraine and a part of Russian foreign policy to establish its influence outside the country.
“A very useful experience of doing dirty things by proxy and a successful tool of destabilization without direct sign of Russia’s influence, undesired for the Kremlin. Therefore, there may be an attempt to secretly appoint a new leadership of the Wagner Group or to bring in their place a new PMC that has already been created in Russia but is already completely controlled by the Kremlin regime. In general, the surviving ‘musicians’ can play the funeral march to the Wagner Group,” Yuri Karin is convinced.
