FPV-Drone Strike Led To Explosion Of Russian Solntsepyok System

Video.

Soldiers of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade published a video showing the destruction of the Russian TOS-1A Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower system in the Luhansk region. This was announced by Yuri Fedorenko, the commander of the Achilles Attack Unmanned Aerial Systems.

This weapon of the invaders has 24 pieces of 220 mm caliber thermobaric missiles. Its crew consists of three people.

The Solntsepyok has a chassis from the T-72 tank, the system uses thermobaric unguided missiles with 3700 mm length and a weight of 217 kg, the Achilles commander writes.

“Thermobaric munitions cause large-scale destruction, but they are ineffective in open space. Such weapons of indiscriminate action are highly dangerous for civilians and prohibited according to international humanitarian law,” Fedorenko notes.

In the video, a Ukrainian drone crashes into the Solntsepyok system at the place where it is equipped with “anti-drone protection” - a metal mesh.

After that, an explosion occurs, the fragments of the weapon scatter in different directions, and a large column of smoke rises.
