As a "self-nominated" candidate.
Russia's Central Election Commission has registered "self-nominated" Vladimir Putin as a candidate for the presidential election. The corresponding resolution was adopted at a meeting of the commission on January 29, RIA Novosti writes.
Putin became the fourth registered candidate. Earlier, the CEC approved Leonid Slutsky<, head of the LDPR party, Vladislav Davankov, deputy speaker of the State Duma and member of the New People party, and Nikolai Kharitonov, a State Duma deputy (CPRF faction).
Independent anti-war "candidate Boris Nadezhdin" has already collected more than 200,000 signatures, twice the number required for registration. Of these, the headquarters will select 105,000 autographs, which will be submitted to the Central Election Commission.
The presidential election will be held in Russia on 17 March. Voting will last three days: 15, 16 and 17 March.
