Denmark Decided To Provide All Its Artillery To Ukraine

The state calls on the rest of Europe to follow its example.

Denmark decided to transfer to Ukraine all the artillery available in stock. The country calls on partners to increase the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

RBC-Ukraine cited Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s speech during the 7th Ukrainian Lunch in Munich.

The Prime Minister noted that European leaders often refer to problems with production in cases of weapons provision. She stressed that Europe has weapons and it is necessary to transfer them to Ukraine.

"But Ukraine is asking us for ammunition and artillery now. We, Denmark, have decided to transfer all our artillery to Ukraine. Therefore, forgive me, friends, there is military equipment in Europe, this is not just a matter of production. We have weapons, ammunition, and air defence systems that we do not use yet. We need to hand them over to Ukraine," she said.

In addition, Frederiksen added that during the COVID-19 pandemic, Europe and the United States quickly invented the vaccine and produced it in the right volumes. In her opinion, this can be done regarding weapons.

The Danish Prime Minister also supported Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO. Frederiksen believes that the EU should give Ukraine a clear signal that it will join the Alliance.

Danish assistance

Denmark is one of the partners of Ukraine. It has provided Ukraine with military and humanitarian assistance, and supports sanctions against Russia.

It is known that Denmark has already provided Ukraine with artillery, and also joined the aviation coalition for the training and transfer of F-16 fighters.

Yesterday, within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Denmark Matte Frederiksen. They discussed security guarantees and cooperation between countries.
