A third of the town was left without heat in 22-degree frost.

The explosion at the Shagonar thermal power plant in Russian Tuva was caught on video. It happened in the morning of March 6.

This is reported by the Russian Telegram channel of SHOT.

The Shagonar thermal power plant is located in the Russian republic of Tuva. According to the region's governor, the explosion allegedly occurred in a heat supply compartment separate from the boiler house. State-run RosSMI writes that there was a detonation of coal dust.

After the explosion, a fire broke out at the CHPP. Russian media say that 23 people were allegedly injured in the incident. Some of them were hospitalised, some in serious condition.

According to the governor, the heat supply in Shagonar has been stopped, frosts of up to -12 degrees Celsius are forecast there, and up to -22 degrees Celsius at night. About 4 thousand people are left without heat. In total, more than 12 thousand people live in the town.
