The Latvian embassy in the Russian Federation has issued an alarming statement to its citizens in the Russian capital today.
It warned of high risks of a terrorist attack in the next two days.
The corresponding statement was published on the official channel of the diplomatic department on the Х social network on March 8.
🟨 Saistībā ar iespējamiem terora aktiem tuvāko 48 stundu laikā Maskavā stingri aicinām neceļot uz Krievijas Federāciju un izvairīties no masu pulcēšanās vietām Maskavā.

"Due to possible terrorist attacks in Moscow in the next 48 hours, we urge you not to enter the territory of the Russian Federation and avoid mass gatherings in the capital of the Russian Federation," the Latvian embassy said in the statement.
It should be noted that the United States was the first to report extremely high risks of terrorist attacks in the Russian capital on March 7.
They recommended their citizens to avoid participating in public events where large crowds of people might gather.
A couple of hours later, the British Foreign Ministry made a similar statement.
The West has not yet given any explanations as to who the threat comes from.
It is known that it is assessed as "imminent", i.e. Washington has extremely convincing evidence that terrorist attacks are being prepared.
