Ukraine Exported In Seven Months By Sea Corridor More Than In One Year Of Grain Initiative

This continues to increase efficiency.

During the seven months of operation of the Ukrainian sea corridor, 33.8 million tons of cargo were exported. This is more than a year of work of the Grain Initiative, in which the UN, Russia and Turkey participated.

According to obozrevatel.com, this was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov.

"Today, 1,140 ships have passed through the Ukrainian corridor, exporting 33.8 million tons of cargo to 40 countries around the world. Of these, 23.1 million tons are products of Ukrainian farmers," Kubrakov said.

According to him, now 150 ships are waiting for the approach to the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhne, which should export almost 5 million tons of cargo.

"We can say that we have reached almost pre-war volumes of exports from the ports of Velyka Odesa, as well as introduced a more efficient logistics route without the participation of the aggressor state, while continuing to be a guarantor of food security in the world. This is another common victory of the state, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire maritime infrastructure industry," the minister said.

As you know, despite systemic air attacks, the temporary corridor of the Black Sea continues to increase its efficiency. At the same time, the issue of ship insurance remains complex. At the end of last year, Ukraine began to develop a new mechanism of guarantees to cover damage to shipowners in the event of their occurrence, and the Unity ship insurance program was created. However, this mechanism has only just begun to work, so insurance rates are still quite high.
