Munich Airport Reopens After Shutdown Due To Suspicious Drones

The air harbor is one of the largest in Europe.

Munich Airport, one of the largest in Germany and Europe, resumed operations after a night pause due to the appearance of unknown drones.

It is reported by Spiegel.

The Federal Police announced that flights from Munich Airport resumed from early morning.

The Flightradar24 resource data also confirms the departure of flights.

The airport management company said that about 3,000 passengers were affected by the forced pause.

Late in the evening of October 2, Munich airport reportedly suspended operations due to the presence of an unknown drone or drones.

Few people reported a drone near the airport, federal police said overnight. Later, the drone was also seen over airport property. It was unclear whether it was one drone or several.

State and federal police officers surveyed the area and searched for flying objects and suspicious persons, but to no avail.

Suspicious drones were recently spotted over the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein.

Last week, unknown drones appeared near several airports and military facilities in Denmark.
