Belgium Will Provide Ukraine With Additional F-16s

The fighter jets are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2026.

Ukraine discussed the issue of the F-16s with Belgian officials and agreed to receive additional fighter jets by the end of 2026. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a briefing.

“Today we are using them in the sky to shoot down the Russian side’s jet-powered, fastest ‘Shaheds.’ And the F-16s are performing very well,” Zelenskyy said.

He also answered journalists’ questions about plans regarding Russian assets frozen in the West. According to the president, it is important for Ukraine that Russia not gain access to them.

“We raise this issue at meetings. In my view, our message is that the main thing is to ensure that Russia does not have the opportunity to subsequently influence these assets. We know for certain: they are very eager to get these assets back. This is one of the Russian Federation’s goals. And that is why, in one form or another, Ukraine would like to receive the corresponding funds before Russia is able to do so,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
