Russian Shahed Nearly Crashes Into Five-Story Residential Building In Khoyniki, Belarus

The UAV crashed near the district executive committee.

Residents of the district center of Khoyniki in the Homel region told Flagstaff about the crash of a Russian attack drone in the city center on February 9.

According to one of the eyewitnesses, the drone “landed” near the district executive committee at about 3:30 am and almost hit a 5-story residential building #3 on Katouski Lane:

“It was flying somewhere from the northeast. It crashed almost into a 5-story building. The entire building was evacuated and put into a hotel. Nearby stores were closed during the day. After lunch, the drone was taken out and blown up. The whole city is in an uproar. They brought in a bunch of police, including riot police.”

Another source confirmed the information:

“At night, “Shaheds” were heard. One drone fell near the executive committee. In the morning, everything was cordoned off, people were not allowed in. There were the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the police and sappers.”

Thus, the UAV fell in Khoyniki without detonation. Its exact model is unknown, it was probably the most common model that the Russian Federation uses to strike Ukraine — a drone of the Shahed-136 (Geran-2) type. It also cannot be ruled out that a Russian Gerbera decoy drone flew into Belarus, which serves to reload Ukrainian air defense and does not contain explosives.
