North Koreans have returned to the front.
Russia has returned North Koreans to the front in the Kursk region and immediately threw them into "meat assaults". One of these attacks was defeated by soldiers of the 47th Magura Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian unit published footage and details on its official Telegram channel.
The military noted a change in the tactics of the Russian Armed Forces during the assaults in the Kursk region. "If earlier they attacked mainly with equipment, now they threw infantry into the offensive. The attacks were carried out by a large number of infantry groups in several directions at once," the Ukrainian Armed Forces military reported.
They specified that the assault lasted about 16 hours. "They (the DPRK troops - ed.) walked through fields and open areas. "The enemy attack aircraft were brought in by buggy and unloaded in narrow plantings, where the enemy hid behind the trees," Magura reported.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the Russian assault using cluster munitions. The military estimates the losses of Russians and North Koreans at approximately a company, that is, 80-150 people.
The return of the North Koreans to the front was commented on in Telegram by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the Security Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.
"In the Kursk region, the tactics of using the DPRK military by the Russians have not changed at all. The same assault groups that go "head-on" and suffer losses," the officer noted.
In January 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces noticed the disappearance of North Korean troops from the front line in the Kursk region.
The Russians withdrew these units to the rear due to huge losses for the recovery and re-training of soldiers.
The DPRK troops were urgently returned to the battlefield the other day. The Russian Armed Forces Command took this step due to the new successful offensive of the Ukrainian forces near Sudzha.
