After a series of strikes on refineries, fuel is scarce in the Russian Federation.
Primorye, following occupied Crimea and Trans-Baikal Territory of the Russian Federation, faced gasoline shortages at gas stations after a series of AFU strikes on oil refineries, which deprived the Russian economy of 13% of refinery capacity.
According to PrimaMedia, fuel outages began to occur in early August, and have recently intensified. Drivers from Anuchino, Arsenyev, Chuguev District and Ussuriysk reported gasoline shortages, and then AI-92 and AI-95 disappeared from Vladivostok gas stations.
The fuel collapse occurred on the federal highway "Ussuri", which connects Khabarovsk Krai and Primorye, DVhab writes. According to local residents, gasoline is sold by coupons. "On the columns hang signs "Does not work". <...> Only emergency vehicles and cars of organizations are refueled using fuel cards. It is possible to refuel in large settlements, but the queues there are 1.5-2 hours long," complains one of the drivers.
Sources of PrimaMedia attribute the problem to the fact that during the peak tourist season, when the demand for gasoline jumped up, oil refineries sharply reduced fuel sales, some of them by 5 times. In addition, the transportation collapse on the Russian Railways network has an impact: trains with fuel stay on the tracks for a long time, and their arrival in Vladivostok is sometimes delayed for up to two weeks.
The regional government explained the situation by the fact that fuel runs out faster in summer, and delivery of petroleum products to filling stations has slowed down due to repairs on a section of the federal highway. At the same time, stocks at gas stations in the region are maintained at the level necessary for uninterrupted supply, the authorities emphasized.
