Zelensky Congratulated Ukrainians On Independence Day From Maidan
Vladimir Zelensky

Ukraine will never forget its heroes.

On Sunday, August 24, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky traditionally addressed Ukrainians on the occasion of Ukraine's Independence Day.

"Here is the best place to feel what Independence is. This is the place where history is always being made," said Zelensky, who built his speech on parallels between the symbols of Maidan and the main events and milestones of Ukrainian independence.

"It is here, on Maidan, that Ukrainians often say goodbye to the heroes on the shield. And everyone who has been at least once at such a farewell, and everyone who has lost someone in this war, has his personal account to Russia forever and has promised himself not to forget his heroes. The embodiment of such an oath - this is the field of people's memory", - emphasized the President of Ukraine.

"We are building Ukraine, which will have sufficient strength and power to live in security and peace. So that on this square, on the square of our independence, under their flags, on their land, our children and grandchildren will celebrate Independence Day. In peace. In tranquility. With confidence in the future. With respect. And with gratitude to all those who defended Ukraine in this war for independence, who endured, who could, who won. It is worth living for such a goal. That is what we stand for. Happy holiday to you, great people of a great country! Happy Independence Day!" - Zelensky emphasized, congratulating Ukrainians on Independence Day.
