The political analyst pointed out an interesting detail.
Political analyst Abbas Galliamov expressed the view that Putin could end the war in Ukraine without a “victory.”
“Putin isn’t stopping because he can’t figure out what to do after the war. What then—fix pipes? That’s petty. Right now, he’s shaping the course of history. He’s doing something that makes the world shudder, and then he’d just be sitting around fixing a stove. Do you understand? It’s this very mismatch of scales that discourages him. He can’t come up with a project that would allow him to replace one project with another,” said Abbas Gallyamov.
The political strategist discussed the conditions under which Putin himself could end the war in Ukraine during an appearance on ICTV at YouTube.
“In fact, Putin isn’t the first person in history who could end a war without a victory (the war of aggression that he started by promising victory). It’s a mistake to think that if a dictator starts a war, he must fight ‘to the bitter end.’ No. Saddam Hussein ended the Iran-Iraq War and didn’t lose power; Kim Il-sung ended the Korean War, but here it’s very important to find some kind of replacement, some kind of project,” — Galliamov pointed out this interesting nuance.
The expert also explained: “Putin has no vision, no understanding of what else to offer society besides his ridiculous ‘patriotism,’ which, obviously, isn’t working either.” The tragedy of his situation lies in the fact that he came up with a bad project, but he is incapable of coming up with anything smarter. He is too corrupt for that; he is too selfish for that. Just as there was no national idea in Russia before, there still isn’t one now. The problem is that the only thing he is capable of creating is a national project in the form of hatred toward the outside world.”
