Lukashenko promised his "pocket" subsidies as well.
On October 15, Lukashenko arrived in the Verkhnedvinsky District and visited the “Krasny Bor Agro” livestock farm. Its owner Nikolai Vorobey has long been considered a businessman close to the dictator. Investigators regard him as the ruler’s “pursestringer.”
According to Lukashenko’s press service, he did not arrive empty-handed. Even before the trip, he allegedly “carefully studied a map of the district” and selected plots of land that he decided to transfer to an “efficient private entrepreneur” for the development of production. According to the dictator, this is an extreme measure, but one that is justified in this case.
“Nikolai, if you want support, I’ve marked out at home what you need to take. I’m ready to hand this over to you. We need to take drastic action here. This complex needs feed. The land we have here should provide you with feed. Submit a plan to me by spring,” Lukashenko told Vorobey.
In addition to the land, the dictator promised his protégé subsidies as well.
“There isn’t a lot of money. We’ll subsidize you, just like everyone else,” he said.
Lukashenko also expressed support for Vorobyov’s other businesses in the area.
“The forest and the land are yours; the tourist destination is yours. Feed the people who come here to vacation—take what you need from here and feed them. Just as you’ve been doing,” he said.
