Signs Of Destiny For Ukraine
Efrem Lukatsky, head of the Associated Press bureau in Ukraine

The universe speaks to us not with thunder, but with a whisper.

The Lord and His team are great pranksters. Sometimes it seems as though they’re having fun by dropping little hints about the future to individuals and entire nations.

Reality itself always whispers first about what will happen next.

You just need to be able to hear it—at that very moment when everything around you is noisy, chaotic, and distracting.

As Yanukovych was entering the presidential office for the first time after his election, the main doors suddenly closed.

He did not serve his full presidential term—he was ousted.

During the inauguration of Petro Poroshenko, a soldier on the honor guard fainted just as he was entering parliament before taking the oath of office. The start of the war.

January 26, 2014. St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. Pope Francis, together with some children, releases two white doves into the sky—as a sign of peace for Ukraine. But no sooner had they taken flight than a seagull and a raven swooped down on them. Officials stated that the doves had survived. However, according to my information, they perished. A few weeks later, Ukraine would enter the most tragic era of its modern history.

During the inauguration of Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Verkhovna Rada, the presidential certificate—which a soldier of the honor guard was carrying on a cushion—fell to the floor—at the very moment the speaker was saying his name.

And sometimes—the sign comes quite simply. The brilliant Georgian singer Hamlet Gonashvili died after falling onto a pitchfork. Two months earlier, during a rehearsal, an identical pitchfork had fallen from the roof—and flown just a few millimeters from his face.

Have you ever wondered why the Orange Revolution took place without a single drop of blood being shed? Perhaps because, after being poisoned, its leader suffered terribly from pain and was covered in wounds.

Some might say: superstition, coincidence, a trivial detail. But perhaps everything important in the world begins with precisely such small things.

The universe speaks to us not with thunder, but with a whisper. And whoever learns to distinguish its voice from the noise may be able to understand what lies ahead.
