It seems that banks are in desperate need of depositors' money.
It seems that banks are in desperate need of our money—in the form of interest payments that will be made over the next few decades. After all, yet another “lender” has revised its mortgage terms. We’re talking about “Belagroprombank.” As noted by the Telegram channel Statika, as of yesterday, the bank has updated the terms under which it is willing to work with Belarusians.
Specifically, “Belagroprombank” has extended the maximum loan term to 30 years and has also introduced an annuity repayment method.
Overall, the bank offers three loan products that allow people to acquire a home under standard terms, without any special benefits. These are the “Real Estate Construction Loan,” the “Real Estate Purchase Loan,” and the “Online Residential Property Purchase Loan.” There is also a “Prefabricated House Kit Purchase Loan,” but that’s a different story—we won’t be discussing it today.
The terms are as follows.
Tiered interest rates:
• 10.9% per annum for the first 730 days (that’s two years);
• 15% per annum starting on the 731st day.
Annuity payments:
• 14.5% per annum;
• 13.9%—when purchasing or building a home from a state-owned developer on the primary market.
“With differentiated payments, the principal is repaid in equal installments, so the total payment gradually decreases. With annuity payments, the monthly amount remains the same,” explains Statika.
The bank has also updated the terms for refinancing real estate loans from other banks: 10.9% for the first 366 days, then 15.25%.
