Belarus plans to raise taxes on owners of farmsteads and artisans in 2027. This is provided for in a draft amendment to the Tax Code.
Farmstead owners currently pay a tax of 45 rubles per month, while artisans pay 10 rubles. These fees are set to rise to 48 and 11 rubles per month, respectively.
In 2024, the government approved a list of activities for artisans. It includes the manufacture of traditional musical instruments, hand-woven textiles, yarn, as well as blacksmithing and leatherworking.
The list also includes barrel-making (cooperage), as well as the artistic processing and painting of items made from various materials. In addition, artisans are permitted to manufacture and repair stove tiles, decorative tiles and panel inserts, tile cornices made of natural clay, as well as carts, sleds, and children’s sleds, and items made using the patchwork technique.
