Ukrainian paratroopers foiled the plotters' plan.
Soldiers from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 225th Separate Assault Regiment captured a Russian occupier whom his commanders had sent 20 km into Ukrainian rear areas carrying a Russian flag to film a propaganda video.
This was reported on Facebook by the 7th Separate Airborne Corps.
A scout from the 36th Russian Brigade was supposed to march from Huliaipole to Tersianka near Zaporizhzhia, plant the flag, create the appearance of an occupying force advancing, and return.
But instead of creating a propaganda image, the Russian soldier ended up in the custody of the 225th Special Forces Regiment.
In a video released by the 7th Corps of the Airborne Forces, he explained that he had been drafted into the army from a penal colony and was given this mission after just two months of service.
Moreover, more experienced occupiers had warned him that he was being sent “into the meat grinder.”
