The Russian chemical power source manufacturer PJSC "Energia," which was attacked by the Ukrainian army on Sunday, October 25, is of immense importance to the Russian Federation’s military-industrial complex. It is involved in the production chains of several specific missile systems.

In addition, the plant supplies 9B283 thermal batteries for the 9M723 ballistic missile of the “Iskander-M” tactical missile system, as well as 9B280-1 power units for the 9M727/728 cruise missile of the “Iskander-K” tactical missile system.

As part of a production partnership, the plant manufactures T-657 chemical power sources for the 3M22 “Zircon” missile. The plant also manufactures 9-S-7760.00.01.00 onboard battery packs as part of a production partnership for the Kh-47M2 “Kinzhal,” and for the 95Ya6 anti-aircraft guided missile used by the “Pantsir-S1” air defense system, the plant manufactures the 9B281 battery.

“In modern missiles and guided munitions, power sources ensure the operation of electronic and control systems. In particular, special thermal batteries can be activated immediately before use and deliver the necessary power for a limited time,” the expert explained.
