Ukraine Has Imposed Sanctions On A Belarusian Satellite Developer

The company is participating in the development of the Russian "Rassvet" communications system.

On the imposition of sanctions against the Belarusian company "AeroKosmicheskie Pribory" (CJSC), which is involved in the development of components for the Russian "Rassvet" satellite communications system, reported on October 30 by the press service of the President of Ukraine.

The sanctions list related to the Russian project includes 10 companies and 19 individuals. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted the relevant decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine through his decrees.

According to the Ukrainian side, the Belarusian company is engaged in the development and prototyping of components for aerospace systems.

It is noted that the main developer, coordinator, and systems integrator of the “Rassvet” project is the Russian company “Bureau 1440” LLC. According to the Ukrainian side, Russia is seeking to create its own low-Earth-orbit satellite system modeled after the American Starlink system, which can be used for real-time troop command and control, as well as for guiding and controlling strike drones and missiles.

Ukrainian sanctions include asset freezes, a halt to trade operations, transit restrictions, a ban on technology transfers, and a number of other restrictive measures.

Kyiv regularly imposes sanctions against Belarusian companies. These sanctions are primarily related to the military-industrial complex.

Aerospace Instruments CJSC was registered in Minsk on December 23, 2022. The company is a resident of the Minsk City Technopark. According to its published description of activities, it develops and manufactures components for aerospace systems and designs prototypes of components and onboard devices.
