They returned to the United States.

Twelve U.S. bombers that were used in strikes against Iran have been returned to the United States. This occurred a week after several men suspected of planning terrorist attacks were detained near the air base.

All of the American B-1B Lancer bombers have left the Royal Air Force Fairford base in the United Kingdom, according to Reuters reports, citing the Pentagon.

“Although operational security considerations prevented us from confirming the movement of our equipment and forces in real time, we can now report that all U.S. bombers stationed at Fairford Air Base have returned to their bases in the United States,” a Pentagon spokesperson said.

There were 12 B-1 bombers at the British air base. They took off from there to carry out U.S. strikes on Iranian missile facilities.

A week earlier, several men were arrested near Fairford under explosives legislation. Residents were evacuated from nearby homes.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated that London has “strong evidence” of Iran’s involvement in the alleged plot against the base. Tehran dismissed these accusations as baseless. Donald Trump claimed that the suspects planned to cause “significant damage.”
