Belgium Will Transfer Three F-16s To Ukraine

After consultation with France.

Belgium plans to transfer three F-16 aircraft to Ukraine this year following an agreement with France. This was announced by Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken in an interview with "Ukrinform".

The F-16s are to be transferred to Ukraine in the very near future, says the Belgian defense minister.

“We can do this fairly quickly. Our F-16s were modernized using French electronic warfare technology, so when we send them to Ukraine, we must have an agreement signed by France authorizing the transfer to a third party. Once it’s approved, we’ll be able to provide the F-16s. I believe we’ll be able to finalize this in the near future. Then we’ll begin organizing the logistics,” Franken said.

In addition, according to Franken, Belgium has already sent Ukraine a large amount of ammunition for the F-16s—a few weeks ago, the figure was 50,000 rounds. Now a request for additional deliveries has been received, and a team from the Ministry of Defense is reviewing the matter.
