BelGee Is Being Pushed Out Of The Russian Market

Sales have been falling for two months in a row.

BelGee car sales in Russia have been falling year-over-year for the second consecutive month. This is according to data from the "Autostat" agency.

In September, 4,861 cars of the Belarusian brand were sold on the Russian market, which is 41.8% less than a year earlier. Nevertheless, sales for January through September totaled 42,977 vehicles, which is 6.1% more than during the same period last year. BelGee’s market share declined slightly over the year, from 4.52% to 4.48%.

The BelGee X50+ is among this year’s most popular models. In September, 3,037 of these vehicles were sold, and 16,058 were sold over the nine-month period.

The Russian passenger car market contracted by 6.2% in September, to 115,000 units. Over the first nine months, however, growth of 7.2% was recorded, reaching 960,000 cars.

Lada remains the market leader: since the beginning of the year, it has sold 236,800 vehicles, which is 0.4% less than a year ago. It is followed by Haval (127,670, up 16.4%), Tenet (101,100, up 36-fold), and Geely (58,080, down 6.9%).
