Irrevocably.
In an aviation incident on October 21 in the Kaliningrad Region, two Russian Su-30 fighter jets were damaged. One crashed, and the other sustained serious damage to its wing. A photo of the damaged fighter jet was released by the OSINT community “Bdzholi”.
In October, Russia irretrievably lost 11 aircraft and two Mi-8 helicopters. Two more Su-34s and this Su-30SM2 sustained serious damage.

The photos were obtained from sources at the Baltic Fleet airbase in Chernyakhovsk. They show a Su-30SM2 with the designation “89 Blue”—an aircraft transferred to the Russian Naval Aviation in November 2025. It had been in service for less than a year before sustaining damage.

Previously, reports had only mentioned the crash of a Su-30SM between Timofeevka and Zeleny Bor. Both pilots ejected, sustained injuries, and were hospitalized. An explosion following the crash was captured on video at a cemetery where Russian military personnel were present with musical instruments.
