Prior to that, the patrol had given chase.

In the village of Sutyn in the Pukhovichsky District, traffic police officers stopped a car by shooting at its tires; the driver was an intoxicated man whose license had previously been revoked, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to law enforcement officials, the police received a report that a Ford without license plates was driving through the village of Sutyn, and its driver was believed to be drunk. A traffic police patrol was dispatched to the scene.

The officers located the vehicle and signaled the driver to stop, but he ignored the signal and continued driving. A chase ensued.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after issuing warnings that he would use his weapon, the officer fired aimed shots at the tires.

The driver turned out to be a 32-year-old local resident showing signs of intoxication. The man refused to undergo a medical examination. He had previously had his driver’s license revoked for a similar violation.

Ten administrative citations were issued against the driver, who is currently in a temporary detention facility. The man faces criminal charges for a repeat DUI offense within a year. The Ford will be confiscated.
