A bold move—both physically and in the media.
A new strike by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on the Kstovo Oil Refinery confirmed the shift to a new tactic of long-range strikes.
Israeli military journalist Sergei Ausländer wrote about this in his blog, as reported by Dialog.UA.
The Ukrainians repeated the tactic they used during the strike on the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery. Numerous fire outbreaks are being reported at the site, rather than just one or two, as was the case previously.
“Judging by the strikes on oil refineries in recent days (Novokuybyshevsk, Kstovo, Ufa, etc.), the Ukrainians have changed their tactics. Now, instead of targeting a single—albeit important—facility at the plant, they are trying to take out the entire facility, inflicting as much damage as possible,” Ausländer wrote.
He noted that this new tactic has a significant impact not only physically but also in terms of media coverage.
