Russia views a peaceful and united Europe as its enemy, and its military infrastructure is too extensive to be directed solely against Ukraine. This assessment was made on November 3 at the Berlin Security Conference.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to Zelenskyy, Moscow has made its decision regarding Europe, and this threat will not disappear anytime soon.
“We see that Russia has already made up its mind. It has decided that a peaceful and united Europe is its enemy. And this situation won’t just disappear in a year,” said the Ukrainian president.
The president noted as a positive development that other countries around the world are increasingly viewing Europe as a source of security. So far, he said, this potential remains largely untapped, but it could prove to be very powerful.
Zelenskyy also touched on the role of the United States.
“It’s good that there is still a chance that America will remain part of the security alliance that is so important to Europe,” he noted.
The president described the situation for Ukraine as very difficult. At the same time, he assured that the country would not break, and posed a question to Europeans.
“But Ukraine will never give up. Ukraine will always be strong. And Ukraine will always be European. But what will happen here?” Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy spoke about his view of the threat from Russia during the same speech in Berlin. He urged Europeans to take a closer look at the Russian military facilities that Moscow has been building in recent years. According to the president, their scale is too large to be directed solely against Ukraine.
