The incident occurred during the landing approach.
An engine failed on a plane operated by the Russian airline "Pobeda" that had departed from Minsk while flying over Moscow; the crew reported the incident shortly before landing. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT.
According to SHOT, the Boeing 737-800 passenger plane was flying from Minsk to Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. During the landing approach, at an altitude of about 1.5 kilometers, one of the plane’s engines shut down on its own. Prior to that, its RPM had dropped sharply. An alarm indicating a malfunction immediately sounded in the cockpit.
“The crew issued a Pan-Pan-Pan emergency call (a radio message indicating that a malfunction requiring immediate attention has occurred on board, but does not pose a threat to human life or risk of loss of the aircraft. — Ed.), after which they continued their approach—a few minutes later, the Boeing landed in Moscow. None of the passengers were injured,” SHOT reported.
Neither Pobeda Airlines nor Vnukovo Airport reported the incident.
