A massive fire broke out.
On the night of November 5, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on the Ryazan Region. “There is damage from falling debris. Fires broke out at industrial facilities in Ryazan. Power lines have been damaged, and parts of the city are experiencing power outages,” said the region’s governor Pavel Malkov. According to him, one person was injured. Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ have determined that one of the targets of the attack was the Ryazan Oil Refinery (refinery). According to photos and videos from eyewitnesses, a massive fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds following the strikes.
The Ryazan Oil Refinery is owned by Rosneft and ranks among the top three largest enterprises in the industry in Russia. It has the capacity to process more than 17 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The refinery produces automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, fuel oil, and bitumen. The facility supplies fuel to Moscow and the central regions of the country. Prior to this, the refinery had been repeatedly targeted by Ukrainian attacks. Following a drone strike on October 15, crude oil processing was suspended at one of the primary units. In addition to the refinery, drones struck the Wildberries logistics center in Ryazan on the night of November 5, according to Astra. This is a large distribution center with an area of approximately 173,000 square meters. Local residents reported a fire at the facility following the strike. The warehouse had previously been hit on August 29 and temporarily suspended operations.
Ukrainian drones also attacked the Rostov Region last night. The region’s governor, Yuri Slyusar, reported that approximately 50 drones were destroyed in four districts. “No reports of casualties or damage on the ground have been received. This will be clarified,” Slyusar noted. In addition, Voronezh came under drone attack. The head of the Voronezh region Alexander Gusev reported that 48 drones had been detected and destroyed. “According to preliminary data, there were no casualties. As a result of UAV debris falling in the suburbs, the fences of a private home and a semi-trailer were damaged,” Gusev wrote on his Telegram channel.
