Minsk Is Introducing A New Method Of Paying For Public Transportation
- 6.11.2026, 13:04
So far, only on two routes.
Starting November 6, Minsk will introduce another way to pay for public transportation fares—using a QR code via the M-Belarusbank mobile app. For now, the new feature will be available on only two routes: bus No. 1 and trolleybus No. 1, according to “Minsktrans”.
To pay for a ride, passengers need to find a sticker with a QR code inside the vehicle, open the M-Belarusbank app, and select “Payments” > “Pay via QR Code.” Then, scan the code and confirm the payment.
After payment, an e-ticket will appear in the app. You can find it in the “Log” or “Recent Payments” section and show it to the conductor if necessary.

Any bank card registered with M-Belarusbank can be used for payment, including those issued by other banks.
As a reminder, bus and trolleybus route No. 1 in Minsk is already testing bank card payments via validators. In June 2026, the CEO of “Minsktrans” Konstantin Gololobov announced plans to roll out such a system across the capital’s entire public transit network by the end of the year.
