The U.S. president said the Pentagon still has targets for new strikes.
US President Donald Trump denied information about the complete end of combat operations against Iran. Despite the serious losses of the enemy, the Pentagon still has a list of targets for strikes. He said this in an interview for the YouTube channel Full Measure.
According to the American leader in a conversation with a journalist, Tehran has already suffered a crushing defeat on the battlefield. However, in his opinion, this does not mean the final point.
"Militarily, they are defeated. In their own minds, they may not realize it. But I think they do, because I'm dealing with them," Trump said.
The US president once again stressed that Iran's armed forces - from the navy and air force to air defense and command and control - have been virtually destroyed. He expressed his belief that even with the immediate withdrawal of US troops, it would take Tehran two decades to recover from the blow.
"No, I didn't say that. I said they are defeated, but that doesn't mean they are finished. We could have gone on for another two weeks and destroyed every target. We had certain targets we wanted to hit, and we accomplished probably 70% of them. But there are others that we potentially could have hit," the president stressed.
Separate attention was paid by Trump to his opponent's nuclear program. According to him, the US Space Force is closely monitoring the relevant facilities.
The head of the White House also added that Washington intends to gain control over Iranian enriched uranium in the future.
