"You're Not Leaving Here Right Now": Russian Workers In Penza Attacked A Military Recruitment Officer

He had to retreat.

A covert mobilization is gaining momentum in the Russian Federation. A telling incident occurred in Penza, where employees of a local sugar factory rescued their colleague from the military registration and enlistment office.

Footage of the incident was shared on local social media groups, according to “Dialog”.

The incident took place near the entrance to the Bekovsky Sugar Factory. A man in black civilian clothes, without presenting any identification, attempted to detain one of the workers; however, other factory employees prevented him from taking their colleague away.

Both men and women began cursing at the military commissar and chasing him away.

“You’re not leaving here right now! People are leaving work—and they’re being taken away… Go fight there yourselves first, then come take people!” the workers shouted.

An employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs observed all of this from the sidelines but did not intervene. When the military commissar realized he could not apprehend the man, he left.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Penza Region issued an urgent statement. It began by asserting that the man in black was allegedly in no way connected to the military registration and enlistment office, but was instead a police officer.

“The individuals in this video mistakenly interpreted the lawful actions of police officers as the detention of a citizen for transfer to the ‘special military operation’ zone… Police officers were carrying out specific operations aimed at locating a suspect in a criminal offense,” Russian law enforcement officials stated. They threatened criminal prosecution against citizens who share this video.

Information about the mass mobilization of men in Penza and the surrounding region began to surface on June 19. Local residents created channels where they warned each other about roundups.
