The dictatorship in Minsk is an ally of Russia.
Lithuania sees no prerequisites for a full-fledged political dialog with Belarus. This was stated by Lithuanian Presidential Advisor on Foreign Policy Asta Skaisgiritė on the air of Žinių radijas.
She said that only technical contacts related to border issues are possible between the countries. She noted that the presence of a common border requires interaction to resolve possible incidents, but there are no grounds to talk about a full-fledged political dialog at the level of state leadership.
Skaisgiritė emphasized that there are no necessary conditions for such a dialog.
She also recalled that Belarus remains Russia's ally and supports Moscow in the war against Ukraine, so Vilnius does not consider Minsk as an ally or partner.
According to the advisor, the Lithuanian authorities consider Belarus as a hostile state. Among such threats, she named the use of weather probes by smugglers, migration pressure at the border, and cases of truck detentions.
