Yuri Fedorov: Belarusians Refuse To Fight On The Side Of Russia

The invasion of Ukraine will end with the defeat of Lukashenko's army.

During the last week, there have been reports about the beginning of military exercises in Belarus with the use of nuclear weapons. In addition, a number of Ukrainian politicians and military officials have stated about the threat of a new invasion from the territory of our country. Military expert and analyst Yuri Fedorov told military expert and analyst Yuri Fedorov in an interview with YouTube channel The Breakfast Show. The website Charter97.org quotes an excerpt of the interview:

- Let's separate two things," Yuri Fedorov said. - First. These exercises, where the Belarusian military and their Russian colleagues are learning to use nuclear warheads in a combat situation. What this means is not quite clear, because there is no combat situation, but it is simulated.

The second point is the recent reports that Belarus seems to be about to attack Ukraine.

These are two different stories. I would not attach any special importance to the first one simply because the military always regularly learns to use certain types of weapons. This is one of their tasks.

In Belarus, as far as we can trust these reports, a division of Iskanders with nuclear warheads and 10 aircraft-carriers of nuclear gravity bombs are deployed. But all these munitions are under Russian control and can only be used with the Kremlin's permission. Without that, even technically, the Belarusian military does not have access to these munitions and cannot use them. Nevertheless, some kind of exercises are held every year, as, incidentally, in NATO.

I understand that just this very Iskander, wheeled launchers are moved to some area where they have not been seen before. Usually such areas, of course, are planned and pre-selected, but it's just that these launchers have not appeared there until recently, so as not to demask possible launch sites. They are conducting drills, but only one thing is unclear to me: whether they are really taking nuclear warheads out of storage or working with some imitators.

Most likely, they are working with imitators, there are just some devices that look like nuclear warheads and they are conducting drills with them.

The second story is the question of whether Belarus can attack Ukraine. Somewhere, probably four, maybe five days ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that, according to his intelligence, Moscow is seeking from Minsk that the Belarusian armed forces would take a direct part in the war against Ukraine, that is, attack Ukraine.

It should be understood that one thing when it comes to the intentions and desires of the Kremlin, this desire is quite understandable, the Russian Federation does not have enough of its own forces and very much wants the Belarusian army to take part in the war. Lukashenko, as I understand, does not want this at all, he understands perfectly well that an attempt to invade Ukraine will mean the defeat of the Belarusian army. Among other things, the northern border of Ukraine is quite strongly fortified, all the roads are shot at or mined. The Belarusian troops, if they decide to invade, can move only along certain roads, which are already well shot at.

The defeat of the Belarusian army may cost Lukashenko himself very dearly, because no one in Belarus is eager to participate in the war on the side of Russia. This is also quite well known. Lukashenko himself is looking for an opportunity to negotiate something with Trump, and Trump allegedly even invited him to visit his estate in Florida, but it seems that the Kremlin did not allow Lukashenko to go there.
