Zelensky On Ceasefire With Russia On May 9: No One Has Officially Contacted Us

Ukraine will act depending on the development of the situation.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has said that Kiev has not been sent any official proposals for a possible ceasefire on May 9. He said this in an interview with "My Ukraine," which was published on YouTube on May 4.

"No one has officially contacted us and offered us anything," the head of state emphasized.

He said that any discussion of such a format without Ukraine's participation is unacceptable, because it is against Ukraine that Russia is waging war.

He also criticized the idea of a short-term so-called ceasefire, stressing that it looks cynical against the background of daily shelling of Ukrainian cities.

"Today Merefa, yesterday Dnipro - dead, wounded, adults and children. And then - let's ceasefire for 24 hours. Not seriously. That is to give them a holiday, and in the morning after the 9th they will kill us again," Zelensky said.

The President added that Ukraine will act depending on the development of the situation.

"We will see how it goes," he concluded.
