The port's oil terminal plays a key role in the Russian Federation's logistics system.
On the night of June 21, Ukrainian drones successfully struck an oil terminal in the port of Kerch, located in occupied Crimea.
This was reported by the press service of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that the port’s oil depot plays a key role in the logistics system for petroleum products.
The terminal handles the receipt, storage, and transshipment of oil between the railroad, storage tanks, and tankers.
The terminal also supports ship refueling and the operation of the ferry crossing between Russia and the temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea.
Following the successful attack, numerous fires were reported on the port terminal’s grounds.
As a reminder, on the night of June 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key targets near the Crimean Bridge and in occupied Crimea.
