In Russia, there is talk of the possibility of resuming negotiations with Ukraine.
This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, according to RBC-Ukraine citing Russian media.
“Russia is ready to resume negotiations with Ukraine from the point where they left off,” Lavrov said.
The Russian foreign minister also stated that the talks in Alaska may have been intended to “buy time to arm” the Ukrainian army.
Furthermore, he claimed that the EU is currently “flooding” Ukraine with money and weapons.
Lavrov did not spare the U.S. from criticism either. He accused the Trump administration of tightening sanctions and of ignoring all the statements made following the Alaska talks.
“In addition to Biden’s extension of all sanctions, a substantial package of sanctions from the Trump administration against Russia has already been adopted,” he said.
The last round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S. took place on February 17–18, 2026, in Geneva. The next meeting was scheduled for March 5 in Abu Dhabi, but it was postponed, and no new date has been set.
