At least 100,000 people have fallen victim to repression in Belarus have numbered at least 100,000, according to a statement made at a press conference in Białystok by Nobel laureate, former political prisoner, and human rights activist Ales Beliatski, reports the Telegram channel DzikMedia.

According to Bialiatski, more than 10,000 political criminal cases have been opened in the country; in addition, thousands more people have been subjected to persecution in the form of administrative arrests, fines, and other forms of pressure.

Ales Belyatsky called on the international community to support Belarusian civil society and to work toward the release of political prisoners.
